Hello! I didn't blog last class so this post will be an update of everything I've done so far. I have completed two pinch pots. One is the orange I already showed, and now I finished my heart mug! Here are some photos:
Last time I thought the rim was too thick, so I shaved it down a bit using a rib. I think the rib is my new best friend. It gets rid of cracks so well! I also used a needle tool to poke little dots all over my pot, to mimic the texture of an orange. I think the dots are a little too big, but I wanted them to be more noticeable anyways.
As for the heart mug I finished today, it turned out completely different than I had brainstormed. I had not planned for it to be shaped like a heart, but I was having difficulty getting it to become a circle. I pressed really hard with my thumb and was like, "Hey! This looks like a heart!" I thought it would be a cute idea so I just went with it. For the handle, I attempted to try the pull method in water. Let's just say it was not as easy as Mrs. Lopez made it look. For a final touch, i used the needle tool to carve a little heart out inside the bottom of the mug.
