Hello! Today has been a fun week in ceramics class. I finished wheel throwing two mugs and I added the handles. For both my cat and owl mug, I decided I am going to use raised accent glaze with a clear coat, because I want sections of different colors on my mug. That's why I didn't add on all the details yet, because I need to wait until after it's bisque fired to add eyes and noses, etc. As you can tell, my owl mug is really lopsided. That's one of the reasons I decided to make it an owl, because it kind of reminds me of that shape. I think it emphasizes the front of the owl even more. This is how you can turn a mistake into something creative! Next week I plan on finishing up any details on my mug and putting it in to bisque fire. I also need to get working on putting my world culture pot on display.
